September Book Haul

My first book haul! So exciting!

I've bought a few books this month that I'd love to share with you! Some I've already read and some I still need to! By clicking on the titles it will bring you to each book's Goodreads page! Enjoy!
I picked up The Falconer in the very beginning of September. I've wanted to read it since last year when Jennifer L. Armentrout raved about it on Goodreads. I think the basic premise is about faeries in the mid 1800's. I'm really excited to read this. The last faerie series I read that I really enjoyed was The Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa. I also love the fae aspect in Cassandra Clare's series. I hope I like this one!

From my picture you can't really see how awesome the design of this book actually is. I was in Barnes and Noble after my first day of classes to rewind and I saw this book and I freaked out. It's hardcover but it doesn't have a dust jacket and as soon as you open it it says "FOR MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY." I don't know why but that really pulled me in....And then on the back of the book there's the quote "Forgive us Father for we have sinned," this also really pulled me in. And then after all that I read what it was about and decided I HAD to buy it. I think it's supposed to be a mix of contemporary and horror.

Once again I went to Barnes and Noble one day after class but my intention was to buy a book for my sister's birthday, I swear! But seriously, I can't leave a Barnes and Noble without buying something for myself too. Anyway, I remember seeing this book on the very bottom shelf and it looked lonely so I picked it up. I read the little blurb on the back and I was hooked. I love books that deal with really dark situations, especially when they are really well written. Also this book was originally published on Wattpad, which I found interesting.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Seriously, if you haven't heard about this book or its TV adaptation, where have you been?? I found out about Outlander because of Tumblr of course. All of a sudden these gif sets of Jamie and Claire were showing up on my dash and I had to understand what all the hype was about. So I watched the first episode, and then the second, and the third, and so on. Oh man the show is amazing and I can't believe we have to wait so long for the next episode. Anyway, I realized I couldn't ignore the fact that I could continue on with the story with the books. Also I want to see the differences between the show and the book. If you haven't heard of the show, check it out! People try to say it's all about romance and stuff but there is a major historical aspect as well.

The cover of this book is beautiful. That's what first attracted me to it when I saw it on Goodreads way back in May. Then I saw at Barnes and Noble this month and I had to buy it. However, I have already read this book and you can find my thoughts about it here.

If there is one book that I've been waiting for all year it's this one. This is the sequel to The 5th Wave which is a book you NEED to read. I don't even know what else to say. The genre is definitely science fiction/dystopian what involves aliens. YES, ALIENS. This is the only book series that I've enjoyed that has aliens. That whole part of science fiction never really interested me but Rick Yancey creates a story that is just so addicting and thrilling that you never want it to end. Seriously, go check it out. You can thank me later. I also already finished this book and you can find my review here!

And last but not least, Heir of Fire. Man oh man I've been waiting for this book all summer. I even put off reading Crown of Midnight so that I wouldn't have to wait as long for the next book. Yeah, that didn't work out so well. Anyway, this is the third book in The Throne of Glass series. If you haven't heard of this series, go check it out! It's definitely a fantasy series that is so different from anything else out there. The main character is a female who has trained to be an assassin for the majority of her life. She's probably one of the best female characters in YA literature right now.

Well, there's my first book haul! I hope you enjoyed it!
